So if you're like me you can spam new galaxies until you get the distance you want.Īs far as the rest of the goodies from the shroud enclave I do get a shroud teacher for my temple heavy capital. You'll see the location of all the void enclaves and see which one has the shroud tunnel. However you CAN see where it is at game generation. There's no set distance between you and the other end of the tunnel, I've seen everything between 4 systems away and accross the galaxy. I ended up building a gateway in the same system. I did end up giving away the rest of the surrounding territory to my ally leaving just the sector the tunnel was in as my fortress/transport hub. Thae game I played through until the end I never had NPCs breach my tunnel and I can't say for sure if my allies could go through or not. I would honestly make it a Citidal regardless. Then it gives you non-penalized price for getting branch offices calculated from either end of the tunnel.Īt a bare minimum it's great just as a 1 sector fortress and transport hub. It gives you the adjacent price for building the starbase at the other end. So it's just 400 alloy to open up the tunnel. If you value the slot you can destroy the special after opening the tunnel. I was able to very quickly get the tunnel open and start scouting both ends to the point i'm going to positivly say that basically at the start of the game you have access to both points. It also vastly increases my odds of stumbling on a friendly NPC to start my Holy mission for our noodly master (AKA trading for my church). It does indeed allow trading through the shroud wormhole. on my Psionic Megachurch (spiritualist megacorp) Then you can destroy the building and your tunnel remains. This station building opens A PERMANENT tunnel to the pre determined exit that is in the same system as one of the shroud enclaves. You get one shot to build the station building. Are the anamologies totally random, or is there a selection filter somehow? What sort of events? Permanent modifiers? Temporary? Can you choose the planet? This is where I'm not finding more info in the wiki as to what sort of events, and any limitations on anomalies. Late game by necessity when Influence goes from always-needed to a diminishing return.Ĥ) What is to be our Fate: Starts the 'Sign of the Visitor' Situation which can, according to the wiki, 'trigger various events or create anomalies.' Intent seems obvious- a late-game spammable option to relatively quickly build up an intel base against someone. If you conquer a world with this modifier, does it go away?ģ) Insight on Another Empire: a 90% chance for some sort of intel-boon (a random asset (40%), +15 infiltration (25%), or +20 intel (25%), with a 10% chance of nothing. If you lose the world, can you get the planetary decision again from the Enclave? Does this modifier survive terraforming/ecumenopolis transformation? Very good on a dedicated unity world- or, barring that, your homeworld. Do claims (both establishing outpost/claiming systems) treat wormhole-adjacent systems for influence cost considerations?Ģ) Send Us A Teacher: A single-time ability to have a planetary decision that gives a modifier of 5% amenities, 10% unity, and +3 unity from Telepaths. Can you go through other empires' shroud tunnels to get to their terrain? Can trade be collected through, or trade routes fall through, the shroud beacon? However, the ability to cross the wormhole for war and territorial expansion can open new avenues of expansion. This last one, even as a 1% chance, makes the who thing a risk best avoided, or at least minimized. According to the wiki, there's a 74% chance of nothing, a 10% chance of a leader mutation (change of portrait), a 10% chance of scientists gaining a trait (some good, some bad), 5% chance the fleet gets a random enhancement, and a 1% change a corrupted shroud avatage to be constructed. This Shroud Beacon wormhole is not safe over time, and should NOT be build in the home system early on. I'm looking for a check on my understanding, and insight onto anything I'm missing, but especially the limits/dynamics of the situation option and use of the Shroud BeaconĪs an Enclave, the Shroud Coven requires Influence to interact with, and appears to have 4 main interactions, 3 of which entail 50 influence on top of energy.ġ) Travel Via the Shroud: The one non-influence option, a one-time option for a unique starbase building to create a psionic wormhole between the starbase and the Shroud enclave HQ. Despite not having access to the game for a little while, I've been reading up and doing some initial thinking on the Shroud-Touched Coven enclave added with Overlord.
